A wet system is the most typical type of system found in the majority of office buildings and warehouses.  Wet systems can only be installed in areas that are not subject to freezing temperatures. This type of system is tied directly into an underground water supply and maintains constant water pressure in all of the piping.  With sprinkler head activation, water is immediately dispersed from the activated sprinkler head.

An ANNUAL wet system inspection consists of testing/inspecting the following components:

  • Water flow alarms
  • Control valve tamper switch alarms
  • Main drain flow
  • Fire department connection
  • Stock of spare heads
  • Sprinkler heads and piping
  • Sprinkler coverage

A RISER or QUARTERLY wet system inspection consists of testing/inspecting the following components:

  • Water flow alarms
  • Control valve tamper switch alarms
  • Main drain flow
  • Fire department connection
  • Stock of spare heads
